Lloyd “Bud” Gustafson passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2016 at the age of 85 in Turlock, CA. Bud was born on July 16, 1931 in Denair, CA to Albert and Luella Gustafson. He was raised on the family farm in Denair. He was a graduate of Denair High School with the class of 1949. He then went on to obtain his AS Degree at Modesto Junior College. After receiving his degree, he enlisted in the US Air Force at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS until 1960. There he specialized in Morse Code. Bud resided in the communities of Denair, CA and Biloxi, MS prior to moving to Turlock, CA where he has resided since. Bud started off working at Woody’s Poultry Supply where he was a salesman for diversified poultry equipment. He ended his 40 plus years as a consultant for GSI, where he then retired. In his younger years he enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting with his dad and younger brother. He was an exceptional athlete and enjoyed playing basketball and football for Denair High School. Throughout his years Bud continued to enjoy fishing and hunting, as well as working to improve on his golf game. Bud is survived by his wife Alice; his brother Jerry (Clarice) Gustafson of Turlock, CA; his daughters Sherry (Shane) Balfour of Turlock, CA and Lori Gustafson of Modesto, CA; step-daughters Cheri (Mike) Bianco and Karen Eastman both of Turlock, CA; Granddaughter Jennifer (Alex) Duran and Great-grandson Bronson Duran of Turlock, CA; Granddaughters Brooke (Drew) Naef of Costa Mesa, CA and Heather (Jonathan) Kaplan and Great-granddaughter Olivia of Salerno Newport Beach, CA and Grandson Zachary Eastman of Turlock, CA. Bud was a devoted man of faith. He genuinely loved seeing and spending time with his family. He was an avid fan of baseball and especially enjoyed rooting for the SF Giants. Bud was an honest, loving and supportive man not only to his family and friends, but everyone he came into contact with. His love for life and his positive attitude was infectious to any one that crossed his path. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside service will be held at 11a.m. on Wed., Oct. 5 at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock, CA.
