Tony Dale Lewis passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, September 15th in Turlock, CA. He was 51 years old. Tony was born on February 3, 1967 in Modesto, CA to Dale and Edie Lewis. Tony's school years started in Stockton, continued in Manteca and Salida, before finishing in Modesto, where he graduated from Modesto High School in 1985. Tony met his wife, Kathlene in the summer of 1985, when they were working together. They later married on September 9, 2000. They started their family and together they had two beautiful sons, Noah and Tanner. Tony had a great work ethic and believed in working hard. He began working for various contractors doing landscaping, which he adored. He had a gift for creating beautiful landscapes and took pride in creating something beautiful. For the last 20 years, Tony worked for Hilmar Cheese Company. Whether it was days, swing shifts or graveyard shifts, Tony could always be counted on to get the job done and done right. Tony took pride in all his work, whether it was a paid job or the work he did at home for fun. You could say Tony was somewhat of a perfectionist. Tony's greatest love and joy in life were his two sons, Noah and Tanner. Tony couldn't wait to have days off so he could spend time with his boys. They enjoyed music, playing pool, cards, wrestling, football, camping and much more. The trips he took to Santa Cruz every summer since his childhood carried on with his own family, a tradition Noah and Tanner will cherish forever. Whether playing in the water or riding on the rides, he was still a big kid at heart. In his spare time, Tony loved completing crossword puzzles. He would spend hours finishing them while he listened to classic rock. He was a wonderful cook and created recipes with his own unique flair; his favorite was Mexican food, of course. He never outgrew his love of peanut butter, eating it right out of the jar by the spoonful. Nothing could beat a big t-bone steak or a big taco truck burrito. He was a loyal Raiders fan, as evidenced by his Raiders memorabilia. Tony is survived by his wife, Kathlene; his sons, Noah and Tanner; his mother, Edie (Lewis) Klein; step-father, Rex Klein; and his sister, Michelle Overend. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Lewis, only four months earlier. Tony will be remembered for his amazing heart and his sweet, caring, honest, hardworking personality. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 3rd in the upstairs Executive Board Room at Hilmar Cheese Company, 9001 Lander Ave., Hilmar, CA. Please come to visit with his family and friends and share your fond memories of a man dearly missed.
