Caron J. Bailey

Caron Janine Bailey, age 59, of Ceres, California, passed away on August 1, 2023. She was much loved, and her ready smile and laugh, along with words of praise and encouragement to her family and friends, will be greatly missed. Caron was born on January 20, 1964 to William Guy Brillon and Geraldine Bernadette Slavinsky in Oakland, California. She spent many of her early years in Dublin, attending school and working in the automotive field. Her career as a Wholesale Representative began with her first job in a parts store at the age of 18. She then moved on to work with Crown Chevrolet, and eventually settled in at Dublin Chevrolet, where she happily worked for 13 years. She became a mother to Jessie Robert Brillon on December 9, 1981 in Livermore, California. She became a wife to Philip R. Bailey Jr. on January 29, 2003 in Pleasanton, California. She very much loved being a mom, wife, grandmother, and friend, and was always one of her loved ones’ biggest cheerleaders. Never one to focus on herself or be in the spotlight, she was always ready to show proud joy in others’ accomplishments along the way. Being outdoors was a love of hers, and she enjoyed fishing, backpacking, camping, and traveling on road trips to places in the mountains or to National Parks. Gardening was also a specialty of hers, and the care she gave to plants inside and out are a testament to her green thumb! She was a sports fan, cheering on the A’s in baseball, the Raiders in football, as well as any sporting event her grandchildren happened to be involved in. She was also very patriotic, putting flags out several times a year in celebration. Caron was predeceased by her parents, William and Geraldine Brillon. She is survived by husband Phil Bailey Jr., brother Marc Brillon, sister Desiree Rose Freitas and Gary Freitas, son Jessie Brillon and Chelsey Teekat, grandson Robert “Robbie” Brillon, and niece Rhianna Brillon. She has 11 grandchildren in total (Robbie, Brandon, Justin, Alex, Paisley, Jiah, Devan, Paige, Brielle, Cole, Caden) , and 2 great-grandchildren (Noah, Cooper). She will be remembered for many things… Her long, curly blond hair, and her perfectly manicured nails. How her two dogs (Tyler and Lily) were her pride and joy, always in her shadow or on her lap. Her love of Christmas shopping and decorating, and her impeccably wrapped presents with beautiful bows on the outside, and extra “gifts” on the inside (soda cans, etc.) to throw you off. How she was so good to write and send cards and/or text messages on holidays and special occasions, working hard to keep in contact with those a distance away. Waking up to a bright and cheery rendition of the Happy Birthday song was something she made sure you received on your special day. How tickled she could get over things, and how her laugh made you laugh. Caron, with Phil by her side, courageously fought ovarian cancer for almost 9 years, and showed quiet persistence throughout it all. She might give you a small update if asked, but wouldn’t dwell on, or complain about, the many trials she faced. We are proud of her bravery and her example of how to weather some of life’s toughest battles. We are also thankful for the time we had to spend with her, and the memories that go with those moments. Services will be held at Turlock Funeral Home on Friday, August 11th, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Much appreciation for your love and support to Caron throughout the years.
