Florinda Alamo passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord on May 12, 2024, at the age of 80. She was born on February 12, 1944, in Turlock, California to A.R. and Olivia Machado. She grew up in Hughson, California and graduated from Hughson High School in 1961 and Modesto Junior College in 1963. Florinda was employed at MJC as an administrative assistant before meeting the love of her life, Tony Alamo. They were married in 1966 and started their lives together on a dairy in Salida before moving to their Crows Landing dairy where they raised their four children. Florinda was a devoted wife, mother, and loving grandmother. Her greatest joy was supporting her children and grandchildren in all their endeavors including attending sporting events, dance recitals, cow shows, and church activities. She loved bowling and going to lunch with her friends, traveling to foreign countries, and visiting places throughout the United States. In her later years, Florinda was often found reading a book, watching a Hallmark movie, or playing Sudoku. Florinda was loyal and steadfast. She had a strong faith in God and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson for over 50 years, a member of YLI Ave Regina #200, PFSA, SPRSI, Turlock Pentecost Association, Westside Auto Club, and Stanislaus Holstein Association. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Tony and Karyn Alamo, Cindy Alamo and Paul Fernandes, Danny and Toni Alamo, Joe and Nelia Alamo, her ten grandchildren, Rylee and Bryan Welly, Anthony and Kelsea Alamo, Kristin and Westin Rollin, Jared Alamo, Kayla Fernandes, John Alamo, Michael Alamo, Angela Fernandes, Sophia Alamo, and Noah Fernandes, and seven great grandchildren, Harrison, Alden, and Waylon Welly, Aubrey and Anthony Alamo, and Emersyn and Kylin Rollin. Florinda also leaves behind her siblings and their spouses, Tony and Evelyn Machado, Rose and Jim Wyeth, John and Margie Machado, Joe and Kathy Machado, and Lele and Donny Hicks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Alamo, and her parents, A.R. and Olivia Machado. Visitation will be on Monday, May 20 at 5:00 PM followed by a Vigil Service and Rosary at 6:00 PM at Turlock Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Hughson, CA on Tuesday, May 21 at 10:00 AM with interment following at Turlock Memorial Park.
