Gerri Jones Prine

Gerri Jones Prine was born on October 11, 1933 in Turlock, CA, and passed away on April 5, 2024. Gerri was nearly a lifelong resident of Stevinson and a faithful member of the Hilmar Holy Rosary/St Mary’s Catholic Church. Gerri was born to Manual and Ellen Correia of Livingston, where she was raised and attended school. She married Bill Jones in 1950 and they had 5 children. Bill and Gerri began raising turkeys in 1958 in Stevinson. Bill passed in 1988 but Gerri continued to farm with her son Rick as they grew Jones Farms over the years. She did all of the bookkeeping for the farming/dairy operations until her early 80’s. Watching the farm grow and being Rick’s business partner was one of her great joys. Gerri has 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She found great joy in big family get togethers at her home where she would cook for days to prepare. She traveled abroad with family friends for many years and never missed a shopping trip with her daughters or granddaughters. Gerri remarried in 2002 to Bruce Prine, after working together on a class reunion planning committee. Gerri and Bruce enjoyed many sports outings together for years to the Giants and 49er games. They enjoyed trips to the coast and also the mountains. They maintained very busy schedules watching great-grandkids sporting events, birthday parties, and high school class lunch meetings. She leaves behind her husband Bruce Prine and her five children Susan (Allan) Mord, Sherrill (Rob) Hillberg, Vicky (Tom) Wagner, Rick (Julie) Jones, and Melinda (Jay) DeGraff, her step children Kenny (Mary) Prine and Debbie (Richard ) Perez, Twelve Grandchildren, Four Step Grandchildren and soon to be 17 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Step Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband William (Bill) Jones. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Turlock Funeral Home, followed by a recitation of the rosary at 6:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Following the mass, Gerri will be laid to rest at North Hilmar Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Gerri's memory to Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar, California.
