Margaret A. Shaw

Margaret Agnes Shaw (Maggie) passed away on June 15th, 2023 at the age of 84, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on June 7th, 1939 in Seattle, Washington to Walter and Mary Brennan. The family moved to Menlo Park, California during her high school years. She attended junior college when she met the love of her life, Jack, and they were married in 1964. When she had her first child, she dedicated herself to being a devoted and loving mother. She excelled at motherhood and was the foundation of her family. She was an excellent gift-giver, shopper extraordinaire, and never forgot a special date. She was our constant cheerleader, supporter, and provider of loving guidance. Maggie was a teacher’s aide at Osborn Elementary School for several years and especially loved working with 3rd graders. She was the receptionist at Turlock Medical Clinic’s Urgent Care for many years, and became the welcoming “face” of that facility. She loved serving and helping people. In retirement, she thoroughly enjoyed traveling with Jack, as well as her father, sister (Mary), brother (George) and sister-in-law (Ginger). Pismo and Hawaii were among her favorite destinations. She planned and orchestrated several family trips, providing all of us with many wonderful memories to share. It was always her mission to gather the family together, and she set the example and the importance of maintaining a strong faith. She is preceeded in death by her parents, brother, sister, and husband. She is survived by her children, Jim (Kym) Shaw, Matt (Teri) Shaw, Katie (Erik) Schulze, as well as her grandchildren, Jacque (Andrew), Claryce (Christopher), Jack, Brooke, Jay, and Emily, and great-grandchildren, Berkeley and Shepherd. We wish to greatly thank Maggie’s personal caregivers, Alannah, Brooke, Carla, Liz, and Marlee for their loving care, as well as Covenant Care Hospice for all of their care, support, and advice. A memorial mass is being held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at St. Anthony's Parish, 7820 Fox Rd., Hughson, CA 95326. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Care Hospice. Thank you also to our family and friends for all of the loving kindness during this time.
