Raymond Ferreira

Raymond Ferreira, a resident of Turlock, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 29, surrounded by his loving family. He was 91 years old. Raymond was born in Newman, CA, to Tony and Demie Ferreira. Raised in the Hilmar area he attended local schools including Hilmar High School. Raymond was an accomplished athlete lettering 4 years baseball, 3 years football and 1 year in track. He was a 4-year member of Block H and FFA serving as reporter his senior year and a 2-year member of the band. Raymond married his high school sweetheart, Jacqueline Cox, on October 16, 1955 at Sacred Heart Church in Turlock. Together, they settled down in Hilmar and raised their family. Raymond was a dairyman and farmer until his full retirement in 1999. A man of faith, Raymond was a member of All Saints University Parish, YMI #44 Hilmar where he was the last surviving Charter member, Cabrillo Club, and PFSA. Raymond was a passionate fan of the SF Giants, watching and attending the baseball games, including the annual trip with Jackie and daughter Karen to Spring Training for 15 years in a row. Raymond enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren’s sporting events. Selfless and generous in spirit, Raymond was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He always was ready to help and lend a hand to his family and friends. He made an impact on all and will be dearly missed. Raymond is survived by his son Frank (Emily), daughter Karen, daughter-in-law Cathy, grandchildren: Bryan (Kindrea), Michael (Kaylee), Tiffany, Kurt (Lindsey), Damien and Siena, great-grandchildren: Taylor, Madison, Sofia, Mason, Verna, Mark, and Dottie, sister-in-law Joann Cooper, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by wife Jacqueline, son, Mark, his parents and brother and sister-in-law Anthony and Eleanor Ferreira. A visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m., followed by the Rosary at 6:00 p.m., on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at All Saints University Parish, 4040 McKenna Dr., Turlock, CA 95382 Following the service, Raymond will be laid to rest at Turlock Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in memory of Raymond Ferreira to the All Saints University Parish Building Fund, 4040 McKenna Dr., Turlock, CA 95382.
