Ilda Figueiredo, age 77, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022 in Hughson, California. Ilda was born on September 1, 1944 in Santa Maria, Azores to Amanceo Melo & Maria Freitas. She was raised and lived in Santa Maria until she was 20. At the age of 20, she moved to Flores, Azores. In Flores she married the love of her life, Jose Figueiredo, on March 8, 1969. Ilda moved to the United States in 1978. While living in the U.S., she was a resident of Denair, California. Ilda was a loving wife and mother. Ilda enjoyed gardening, cooking, and attending Portuguese festivals. She loved visiting her family and friends. Ilda was preceded in death by her parents, Amanceo Melo and Maria Freitas; and her siblings, Maria Jose Melo, Jose Melo, Maria Angelina Melo, Adelaide Melo, Joao Melo, Antonio Melo, and Angelina Melo. Ilda is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Jose Figueiredo; her daughter, Cidalia Jordao; her son-in-law, Mario Jordao; her son, Carlos Figueiredo; her daughter-in-law, Stephanie Figuieredo, and her grandchildren, Spencer, Mia, and Xander. A visitation is being held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock in the Main Chapel. Following the visitation, a rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. in the Main Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the Main Chapel. Following the services, Ilda will be laid to rest at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock.
