Juanita C. Atwood, age 84, passed away at home on Sunday, May 8, 2022 in Wilseyville, California. Juanita was born on February 20, 1938 in Escalon, California to Salvador Alvarado and Juanita Reyes. She was raised in the Escalon and Turlock area. Juanita married her husband, Emile E. Atwood, on February 22, 1971 in Los Angeles, California. Juanita worked as an attorney and minister before retiring in 2004. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Emile E. Atwood. Juanita is survived by her sons, Steven Atwood and Roderick Atwood; and her grandchildren, Aubree Alvares, Natalee Atwood, Lauryn Atwood, Karina Atwood, and Jonathan Atwood. A viewing is being held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock, in the Main Chapel. A funeral service is being held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock, in the Main Chapel. Following the service, Juanita will be laid to rest at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock. A reception is being held from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Turlock Memorial Park, in the North Lawn following interment.
