Ysidra Muñoz Reyes

Ysidra Muñoz Reyes, better known as Doña Chilita of Banderas, Chihuahua, passed away at the age of 79 on Saturday, May 8, 2021, in Atwater, CA. Ysidra was born on May 15, 1941 to the late Concepcion Rafael Muñoz and Maria Magdalena Diaz. She immigrated north to Livingston, CA, where she was a resident for 49 years. Ysidra was a strong, independent, hard working person but above all else, she was a devout catholic, and a dedicated friend, mother and grandmother. She always had a great sense of humor and was loved by many. Jesus Miguel Reyes, her husband of 39 years, preceded her in death, as well as four brothers, Roberto, Jesus, Jose and Socorro, and two sisters, Aurelia and Rufina. Ysidra is survived by her family who will miss her dearly; her sister, Anita Torres of Midland, TX; her brother, Israel Muñoz of Ft. Hancock, TX; four children, Lupe Millan and Marianna Meza of Atwater, CA, Manuel Reyes of Clovis, CA, and Antonio Reyes of Livingston, CA; 14 grandchildren: Elvira, Erica, Marina, Mindy, Valerie, Bianca, Ana, Jaime, Jose Antonio, Maricela, Casandra, Marc, Julianne and Marissa; 10 great-grandchildren and many friends. A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by the Rosary at 6 p.m., on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 8471 Cypress St., Hilmar. Following the Mass, Ysidra will be laid to rest at Turlock Memorial Park.
