In Loving Memory of Dolores Fuentes 10/18/1943 – 5/6/2025 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Dolores Fuentes. On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, Dolores closed her eyes in this world for the last time and opened them in heaven forever. She was surrounded by her family. We are grateful for the loving support provided by her daughter Monica and her husband Steve as they warmly welcomed her into their household as her health declined. Born on October 18, 1943 in Azusa, Los Angeles, California. Dolores lived a life filled with warmth, generosity and a bold strength; “Puro Fuentes” as she would often say with her fist in the air. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. Her kindness touched everyone she met. Her unwavering love and support were the foundation of her family. Dolores was no stranger to hard work. She worked in the fields as a young girl and into her early adult years. She knew the importance of working to support a family. Dolores worked as an operator at Kerman Telephone Co. for 27 years before retiring. Up until her health declined she lived in Kerman for 57 years. Dolores found joy in gardening and would gladly give you a tour of her garden pointing out beautiful Irises and Geraniums and her tomato plant that never seemed to stop producing. She loved making tamales during the holidays. She was a devoted “dog mom” to her beloved fur babies.She really enjoyed the lights, sounds and wins of the local casinos and even had her favorite machines. It was a rare occasion to leave her home on an empty belly. She insisted that you “eat something” even if you weren’t hungry. (And yes, we ate.) Most of all, Dolores took pride in her family. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She never missed a chance to celebrate their achievements or lend a comforting hand during hard times. She is survived by her siblings Anita Sanchez (Eddie), Sarah Raya (John), Joe Fuentes (Alice), Richard Fuentes (Monica), Eddie Fuentes (Maryhelen), children; Norme Walstad (Alicia), Monica Moreno (Steve) and Stanley Copeland Jr. (Helen), grandchildren; Michael Walstad, Vincent Walstad, Tiffany Walstad, Alexandria Walstad, Victoria Walstad, Victor Walstad, Andre Ybarra, Philip Samaniego, Christian Samaniego, Brittni Samaniego, Nathaniel Samaniego, Joshua Moreno, Sarrah Moreno, Kristopher Moreno, Marissa Copeland, David Gonzalez, Joel Copeland and 27 great grandchildren. Her children and her grandchildren will carry on her legacy of love and family. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents Tony and Jenny Fuentes and her brothers Rudy Fuentes and Tony Fuentes. A Viewing will be held on Tuesday May 13, 2025 at 5pm with a Rosary following at 6 pm at Turlock Memorial Park & Funeral Home. She will be celebrated in a Funeral Mass on Wednesday May 14, 2025 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock. Dolores will be laid to rest alongside her parents and brothers at Turlock Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to attend. Dolores finished her race on earth, fulfilled her purpose and left an incredible legacy. “Well done, good and faithful servant, Dolores Fuentes…enter thou into the joy of the Lord.” Matt 25:23
