It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Jean, who departed this earthly life on October 1, 2023, to join her Lord and Savior in eternal peace. She was 94 years old at the time of her passing. Jean was born on March 25, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to Floyd and Agnes Archer. As a young child, she moved with her parents to Hilmar, California and after her marriage to David Vasconcellos, spent her remaining years in Turlock, California. She lived a long and fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and cherished memories that will forever remain in our hearts. As a devout Catholic, Jean lived her life in accordance with the teachings of her faith. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, where she actively served the congregation and community in various capacities. Her commitment to her faith was unwavering, and her actions spoke volumes of her love for God and her fellow humans. She leaves behind a legacy of values and principles that will continue to guide us. Her enduring love, patience, and wisdom will serve as a beacon of light in our lives, even in her absence. Jean had a passion for music and enjoyed playing the piano. She shared her enthusiasm with those around her. Her late son, Brian Vasconcellos shared her musical passion. Her grandson, Scott Vasconcellos and her great-grandson Deric Moren share this same musical passion and Jean was very proud of both of their musical accomplishments. Her love of traveling brought joy and inspiration to those who joined her in these pursuits. She enjoyed the beach and spent numerous vacations in Pismo Beach and Santa Cruz. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, David Vasconcellos; and her son, Brian Vasconcellos. Jean is survived by her three children, Coleen De Leon (husband Jose), Kevin Vasconcellos (wife Elizabeth), and Peggy Howard; eight grandchildren, Thad Moren (wife Fe), Crystal Stapleton (husband Sean), Scott Vasconcellos (wife Katie), Danielle Vasconcellos, Rachel Vasconcellos, Carlie Vasconcellos, Brendon Howard, Jacob Howard; and nine great-grandchildren, Cerah Moren, Jared Moren, Deric Moren, Cadence Stapleton, Colin Stapleton, Noah Vasconcellos, Gianna Vasconcellos, Emma Vasconcellos, and David Vasconcellos. She is also survived by her sister, Diane Anderson and brother, James Archer (wife Emily) and numerous relatives and friends who will forever hold her dear in their hearts. A celebration of Jean's life with her immediate family and close friends was held on October 18, 2023 at Turlock Funeral Home (575 N Soderquist Rd., Turlock, CA 95380). The family kindly requests that donations be made to Breast Cancer Research in her memory.
